# Piece by Piece Pictures Block

> Learn how to use Piece by Piece Pictures blocks to create engaging puzzle activities where learners reveal an image by answering questions.

The **Piece by Piece Pictures** block creates a fun, gamified activity where learners answer questions to earn puzzle pieces. Each correct answer reveals a piece of a hidden image, motivating learners to complete the whole picture.

## When to use Piece by Piece Pictures blocks

Piece by Piece Pictures blocks work well for:

* Adding motivation and engagement to any subject area
* Math fact fluency practice with a rewarding visual payoff
* Vocabulary and spelling review
* Quick-fire review activities before or after a lesson
* Any content where short question-and-answer pairs work well

## Settings

### Image

Upload an image that will be revealed piece by piece as learners answer questions correctly. The image is divided into sections based on the number of questions.

### Questions

Each question has two parts:

* **Question**: The prompt shown to the learner (supports text and images)
* **Response**: The correct answer (supports text and images)

You can add as many questions as you need. Each correct answer reveals one piece of the image.

## Tips for teachers and parents

**Best practices:**

* Choose an image your learners will enjoy uncovering (animals, characters, or something related to your topic)
* Keep questions short and clear since learners type their answers
* Use 5 to 10 questions for a good balance between challenge and engagement
* Turn on **Shuffle question order** so learners can repeat the activity without memorizing the sequence
* Try using images for the question or response side to create visual matching puzzles
* Great for early finisher activities or homework assignments
