***

## A

**Activity**
An interactive learning resource that learners complete. Activities can include questions, media, interactive blocks, and more. One of Edzo's core resource types.

**Assignment**
When you share a resource with learners and ask them to complete it. You can set due dates and track completion from the Progress section.

**AI Credits**
Credits used when Edzo's AI features generate or adapt content. Different plans include different amounts of AI credits.

***

## D

**Differentiation levels**
Three levels that help match content to a learner's ability:

* **Support**: Scaffolded content for learners who need extra help
* **Apply**: The default, curriculum-aligned level
* **Extend**: Stretch challenges for learners ready to go further

***

## G

**Gems**
Rewards earned by learners for reaching milestones and achievements. Gems are a proxy for progress, helping teachers quantify how learners are tracking at a glance. In the future, learners will be able to spend Gems on in-platform rewards.

***

## J

**Journey**
A structured learning path that connects multiple activities in sequence. Learners progress through steps, with each step building on the last. Created using the Journeys Editor.

***

## L

**Learner**
A child or student who uses Edzo to complete learning activities. Learner accounts are always managed by an adult (teacher, parent, or administrator).

**Learning space**
A private environment where you organize learners, assign activities, and track progress. Types include classroom, family, and school spaces.

***

## M

**Member**
An adult (teacher, parent, or administrator) who manages a learning space and supports learners.

***

## Q

**Quiz**
A resource type focused on assessment. Quizzes present questions to learners and track their responses and scores.

***

## R

**Remix**
Creating your own copy of a shared resource so you can customize it. The original stays unchanged. See [Remixing resources](/guides/using-edzo/remixing).

**Resource**
Any piece of learning content on Edzo. Resource types include Activities, Tutorials, Journeys, Quizzes, Slides, Videos, Themes, Tutors, and Wordlists.

***

## S

**Slides**
A presentation-style resource type. Slides display content one screen at a time, similar to a slideshow.

***

## T

**Theme**
A collection of visual styles and settings that can be applied to resources, giving them a consistent look and feel.

**Tutorial**
A guided, step-by-step resource type that walks learners through a concept or process. Created using the Tutorials Editor.

**Tutor**
An AI-powered resource type that provides personalized guidance and feedback to learners.

***

## V

**Video**
A resource type for video-based learning content.

***

## W

**Wordlist**
A resource type for building vocabulary. Wordlists present words with definitions, pronunciation, and practice activities.

***

## X

**XP (Experience Points)**
Points awarded to learners for completing questions and activities. Like Gems, XP is a proxy for progress: it helps learners see how far they've come and gives teachers a quick way to gauge engagement. The real goal is the intrinsic motivation that comes from learning breakthroughs, with XP providing a visible measure of that effort along the way.
