Overview

The Resource Editor is where you create and customize learning activities for your learners. Whether you’re a teacher preparing a classroom lesson or a parent supporting learning at home, the editor gives you everything you need to build engaging, interactive content. You can start from scratch, or remix an existing resource to suit your learners’ needs.
Working with a colleague? Multiple people can edit the same resource at the same time, and changes appear instantly for everyone.

How resources are organized

Resources can be as simple or as structured as you need:
  • Overview: The cover page that introduces your resource with a title and description
  • Sections: Group related pages together (you can call them Parts, Chapters, or Activities)
  • Pages: Individual screens where your content and activities live
A quick 5-minute activity might have just one page. A longer unit of work might have multiple sections, each with several pages.

Blocks

Everything in the Resource Editor is built using blocks. Think of blocks as building pieces you add to your pages.

Adding blocks to your page

The easiest way to add content is using the slash command:
  1. Click on an empty line
  2. Type /
  3. Search for what you need (e.g., /multiple finds Multiple Choice)
  4. Press Enter to add the block

Customizing blocks

When you select a block, you’ll see settings appear. These let you customize how the block looks and works. For questions, you can:
  • Set the correct answer
  • Add hints and feedback
  • Choose layout options
  • Control how answers are marked
Each block type has its own settings suited to its purpose.

Writing with AI assistance

Need help writing content? Edzo AI can help you create text faster. To use AI:
  1. Click in a text block
  2. Open the AI menu
  3. Tell the AI what you’d like it to write, or choose from options like “Continue writing” or “Simplify”
AI is great for:
  • Writing initial drafts
  • Simplifying text for younger learners
  • Generating example sentences
  • Creating reading passages

Working with others

If you’re working with a teaching partner, aide, or co-parent, you can edit the same resource together at the same time. You’ll see:
  • Where others are working on the page
  • Changes appearing as they’re made
  • Everyone’s edits saved automatically
This makes it easy to collaborate without emailing files back and forth.

Organizing your resource

Use the Contents panel on the left to:
  • See all your sections and pages at a glance
  • Jump to any page quickly
  • Drag pages and sections to reorder them
  • Add new pages and sections
Click the list icon in the header to show or hide the Contents panel.

Page settings

Each page has options you can adjust:
  • Page title: What appears in the contents and navigation
  • Show in navigation: Hide pages from learners if needed
  • Completion required: Learners must complete this page before moving on
  • Featured image or video: Add a hero image at the top of the page
Access page settings from the menu at the top of each page.

Previewing your resource

Before sharing with learners, preview how your resource will look:
  • Desktop: How it appears on a computer
  • Tablet: How it appears on an iPad or tablet
  • Mobile: How it appears on a phone
This helps you check everything works well on the devices your learners use.

Version history

The editor saves your work automatically. If you need to undo changes or see previous versions:
  1. Open page settings
  2. Select “Version history”
  3. View and restore earlier versions if needed
