AI create on tag pages, mobile nav links, word search color picker, print and PDF reliability fixes

Mobile Navigation

The mobile nav now includes links to Create, Blog, and About. Previously these were only accessible from the desktop header.

Word Search Color Picker

You can now open the word color picker by clicking the color swatch in the word list. Previously you had to select the word first and then find the color option separately.

The resource listing dropdown now includes an edit action for collaborators, making it quicker to jump into shared resources.
  • Print preview no longer clips the first sheet of an activity
  • Cloze (fill-in-the-blank) print layout spacing is more consistent
  • Quote blocks print with proper typography hierarchy
  • Activity print blocks render in a standardized format
  • Published activity PDFs render inline text correctly again
  • Paragraph content shows up reliably in printed output
  • Page column flow in print preview is more predictable

  • Pictograph column labels align to the bottom baseline correctly
  • Long words in word search lists no longer get truncated
  • Draft activity PDFs no longer download as blank after editor updates
  • Learners’ selected attempt persists when navigating between pages
  • Learner streaks stay consistent across different viewer types

Hide-from-print controls, per-question AI validation, blog audience publishing, streak stickers everywhere, and major PDF and editor fixes

Hide-from-Print Controls

Teachers can now mark specific blocks in the editor as “hidden from print.” This gives you full control over what appears in printed worksheets vs. what’s only visible on screen.

Per-Question AI Validation

AI-generated activities and quizzes now validate each question individually, flagging issues inline so you can fix them one at a time instead of getting a single pass/fail for the whole resource. Dismissed warnings stay dismissed, too.

Blog Audience Publishing

Blog posts can now be published to a local audience (your organization) or globally. Choose who sees your content when you hit publish.

AI Create Shortcut in Tools Menu

A new “Create with AI” button has been added to the tools menu, making it faster to jump into AI-powered resource generation from anywhere.

Streak Stickers Across All Viewers

The streak sticker animation (introduced on the action bar) now appears across all learning viewers, so learners see their streak celebrated no matter which activity type they’re working on.

QR Codes on Quiz Print Headers

Printed quizzes now include a QR code in the header, making it easy to link back to the digital version.

Learner Home Improvements

  • The learner home page now caps visible cards and abbreviates long names so the layout stays clean on smaller screens
  • Learner actions (like switching accounts) have moved into a standalone menu for easier access

Editor Stability

  • Text no longer reverts while you’re actively typing in the editor
  • The cursor no longer jumps unexpectedly when switching between fields

PDF and Print Fixes

  • Answer keys now render correctly across all print blocks
  • Underlined text is preserved in activity PDFs
  • Featured page media (cover images) now appears in print output
  • PDF paper size defaults to your locale (A4 for most of the world, Letter for the US)
  • The first content section starts on a new page after the intro
  • Missing print-preview assets are handled gracefully instead of breaking the export

Other Improvements

  • Avatar initials are used as a fallback in the account menu when a profile image is missing
  • A blocking modal now appears during AI generation so you know something is happening
  • Locale alerts no longer appear when browsing resources in a same-language variant (e.g. en-AU vs en-US)
  • Activity theme backgrounds resolve correctly for inherited block themes
  • Question badge spacing has been increased for readability
  • Fill-in-the-blank prompts use singular wording when there’s only one blank

MCQ quiz generator, word search improvements, better PDF exports, and differentiation tab updates

Multiple Choice Quiz Generator

The AI generator now supports creating multiple choice quizzes. Pick a topic, choose your differentiation level, and the generator builds a ready-to-use MCQ quiz. Generator badges also display in the matching resource type color for easier scanning.

Word Search: New SVG Rendering

Word search boards now render using SVG instead of HTML tables. Letters are crisper, found-word highlight strokes stay visible, and the grid displays consistently across devices. Cell corners are cleaner and rows no longer shift unexpectedly.

Create Menu Generators

Teachers can now launch the word search generator directly from the create menu. The generator automatically infers grid size based on the number of words and suggests an appropriate learner age level.

Differentiation Tabs Reordered

The differentiation picker now follows the order Support, Apply, Extend (instead of alphabetical). This matches the natural progression from scaffolded to challenging content.

Draft PDF Downloads

You can now download PDFs directly from the editor while a resource is still in draft. The File menu and editor toolbar both offer the download option, so you don’t need to publish first to get a printable copy.

Usage Limit Upgrades

When you hit a usage limit, a clear upgrade modal now appears instead of a brief toast notification. The modal explains your options and links directly to the upgrade page.

PDF Export Improvements

  • Print headers have a clearer hierarchy and better layout
  • Answer sections start page numbering correctly
  • Multi-column activity prints fill the first column before wrapping to the second
  • Non-text blocks (images, diagrams) stay intact in multi-column layouts

Bug Fixes

  • Public pages no longer crash on refresh
  • Word search grid letters no longer misalign after finding words
  • PDF downloads from the editor work reliably across browsers

AI hints, custom class codes, badge previews, learner XP bar, and a big batch of quality-of-life improvements

Learners can now tap a Hint button when they’re stuck on a question. Hints are graduated, starting with a gentle nudge and getting more specific if they’re still struggling. Hints also support voiceover playback so younger learners can listen instead of read.

Custom Class Codes

Teachers can now set their own class codes instead of using auto-generated ones. Pick something memorable and relevant to your class, with built-in safety and uniqueness checks.

Badge Previews and Earning Guidance

The badges page now shows upcoming badges (grayed out) alongside earned ones, so learners can see what’s coming next and how to earn them. Locked badges include a short description of what it takes to unlock them.

Learner XP Bar on Every Page

The XP, Gems, and Streak counters now appear across all learner pages, not just the home screen. Learners can track their progress no matter where they are.

The sign-in role selection screen has been streamlined. Less text, clearer buttons, faster into the app.

Switch Back to Parent or Teacher Mode

Learners (and parents browsing in learner mode) now see a “Sign in as adult” option on their profile page, so they’re not stuck in learner mode.

Expanded Profile Icons

More profile icons are available for learners to unlock as they earn XP. Locked icons now show exactly how much XP is needed to unlock them.

In-Activity Badge Celebrations

Badges now pop up the moment they’re earned during an activity, instead of waiting until the learner returns to the home page.

  • The “Add Learners” step now clearly shows a “Skip for now” option so it’s obvious you can come back later
  • Class code validation checks the code exists before navigating, with helpful error messages for invalid codes
  • The class sign-in page now prompts members to add learners (or contact their admin) when no learners exist yet

Activity and Quiz Improvements

  • Match Up pairs now use a neutral color palette instead of red/orange tones that looked like errors
  • Daily question limits now count unique questions attempted, and the copy explains the rule clearly
  • When daily attempts run out, the UI shows a clear next step instead of a confusing disabled button
  • Sort and drag questions now require all items to be placed before submitting
  • Drop in the Blanks hides words from the bank once they’ve been placed
  • The angle indicator no longer clips at extreme angles

Word Search Fixes

  • Found-word highlights no longer clip at the grid edges
  • Reordering words in the editor works reliably

A new number question type is available in the activity and quiz editors. Use it when you want learners to type a numeric answer, perfect for math problems, counting exercises, or any question with a number as the answer.

Learner Attempts History

Learners can now view a history of all their past attempts from their home screen. This gives them a clear record of what they’ve worked on and how they’ve progressed over time.

True/false questions, progress dashboard, assignment insights, and action bar feedback

New Question Type: True or False

A new True/False question block is available across activities and quizzes. It includes full editing, viewing, printing, and marking support, giving you a quick way to check understanding without writing multiple choice options.

Redesigned Progress Dashboard

The progress dashboard has been rebuilt with clearer metric cards and organized panel tables. Completion rates, learner activity, and performance data are easier to read at a glance.

Assignment Insights

You can now see detailed insights for each assignment: which learners have started, how far they’ve progressed, and their current status. A new learner progress view shows individual performance across assigned resources, making it simple to spot who might need extra support.

Animated Action Bar Feedback

When learners answer questions, the action bar now shows animated XP totals and a shake effect on incorrect answers. This gives immediate, satisfying feedback that makes the learning loop feel more responsive across all resource types.

One-Click Standards Tagging

Applying curriculum standards to questions is now a single click. You can bulk-apply standards across all questions in an activity or quiz at once, saving time when aligning content to your curriculum.

Progress Bars Everywhere

Activities and tutorials now show a live progress bar in the header that fills as learners work through each step. The bar matches the resource’s theme color and updates in real time.

Quiz Resume

If a learner leaves a quiz partway through, they now pick up right where they left off. The quiz remembers their position and answer state, so no progress is lost.

Number Line Tick Labels

Number line questions now support an explicit tick label mode, giving you more control over which numbers appear along the line.

Larger Math Equations

Inline math expressions throughout the platform are now displayed at a larger scale, making fractions, symbols, and equations easier to read for younger learners.

Adding nodes or splits to a journey now automatically rearranges the graph so nothing overlaps. No more manually dragging boxes around after every edit.

Multiline Text in Questions

Stimulus text (the reference text shown alongside a question) now supports multiple lines. Line breaks carry through to printed PDFs too, so what you see on screen matches what comes off the printer.

Tutorials in your language, voiceover for answer choices, journey picker upgrade, and reliability fixes

Tutorials in Your Language

Tutorials now respect your learners’ language settings. When generating tutorial content, Edzo produces questions and explanations in the appropriate language, so learners in non-English learning spaces get content that matches.

Voiceover for Answer Choices

Multiple choice questions now have a dedicated speaker button on each option, so learners can hear individual answer choices read aloud. This is especially helpful for younger learners or those with reading difficulties who benefit from audio support.

Improved Journey Resource Picker

The resource picker inside the journey editor has been redesigned. It’s now easier to search, browse, and add resources to your journeys, with better card layouts and smoother filtering.

Remixed Resources Default to Private

When you remix a shared resource, the copy now correctly starts as private. Previously, remixed resources could inherit the original’s visibility, potentially publishing content before you were ready.

Quiz Editor: Actions Moved to a Menu

Quiz row actions (duplicate, delete, reorder) are now tucked into a dropdown menu instead of sitting as bare buttons. This prevents accidental deletions when working quickly in the quiz editor.

Shared Voiceover Across Learning Spaces

Voiceover audio is now shared across learning spaces when the same voice and text are used. This speeds up voiceover generation for content that appears in multiple spaces.

Tutorial Reliability

Tutorials are more reliable across the board: mastery tracking is more accurate, learners are routed correctly when replaying tutorials, and the “thinking” indicator stays visible while the next question loads instead of flashing blank.

Bug Fixes

  • Billing renewal amounts now display the correct currency for your region
  • Learners can now resubmit answers on activity questions without getting blocked
  • Learner progress percentages and quiz XP totals are tracked correctly
  • Member invite emails are visible again in the invitation flow

Voiceover Overhaul

The voiceover experience has been completely refreshed. A new full-screen voice picker modal lets you browse, sort, and filter voices easily. New Australian and Indian English voices have been added to the library, and all voices now include localized metadata so you can find the right accent and style quickly.

Learning Space Plans and Language

Learning space owners can now view their current plan and see an account access badge at a glance. You can also change your learning space’s language from settings.

Smarter AI Quizzes

AI-generated quizzes now use more varied question phrasing and randomise student names in word problems, so generated content feels less repetitive. Quizzes and tutorials also display estimated durations based on their content.

Localised Year Levels Everywhere

Year level and schooling range labels are now localised across resource cards, the editor, and browse pages — so Australian teachers see “Foundation–Year 6” while US teachers see “Kindergarten–Grade 6”.

Maths rendering, smarter defaults, and performance

Maths Everywhere in Quizzes

Maths equations and notation now display correctly everywhere in quizzes: question stems, answer options, and print views. If you use fractions, formulas, or mathematical symbols, they render properly across the board.

Math Input for Stimulus Editing

When editing a question stimulus that contains maths, the editor now uses a dedicated math input field instead of plain text. This makes it much easier to write and preview equations while building questions.

Smarter AI Image Defaults

The AI image generator now defaults to landscape orientation and a flat illustration style, so generated images look better out of the box without needing to adjust settings every time.

Locale-Aware Currency in Quiz Generation

AI-generated quizzes now use the correct currency denominations for the learner’s locale. A money question generated for an Australian classroom will use dollars and cents, not generic currency.

Faster Quiz Editing

Clicking a question in the quiz editor now skips the intro screen and jumps straight to the selected question. Less clicking, more editing.

Faster Activity Loading

Activity viewer and media bundles load more efficiently, so learners see content faster — especially on slower connections.

Bug Fixes

  • Delete buttons in the activity editor now use a clear red colour so they’re harder to miss

Match Up editing, voiceover improvements, and accessibility

Match Up Inline Editing

The Match Up question type now supports inline editing. Click directly on items, labels, and column headings to edit them in place, just like Multiple Choice options. No more switching between separate forms and the preview.

Voiceover Improvements

Text-to-speech for activities has been streamlined. Voiceover settings now live in the block settings menu (consistent with other block settings), and cloze (fill-in-the-blank) questions can now read blanks aloud during playback.Generated quiz preview images are now more reliable. What you see in the preview matches what learners see, and image backgrounds are solid white instead of transparent.

Homepage Polish

The homepage has been refined with better image descriptions for screen readers, responsive card layouts, and confetti after signing up for the newsletter.

Bug Fixes

  • Data table image cells now respect size constraints and show Unsplash credits on hover instead of below the image
  • Match Up connections between items are clearer, with improved drag-and-drop matching
  • Stimulus images in the quiz editor reload correctly after switching questions
  • Angle question answer settings are clearer, with misleading hints removed

Tutorials, learner insights, homepage refresh, and 30+ fixes

Tutorials

A new resource type for one-on-one learning conversations. Tutorials guide learners through topics with an AI tutor that adapts to their responses, asks follow-up questions, and reads content aloud. Teachers set learning objectives and the tutor handles the rest. Includes a content generation tool to quickly create tutorial outlines.

Parents and teachers can now see detailed progress insights for each learner: assignment completion trends, recommendation tracking, and standards-based reporting. These insights show how learners are progressing over time across curriculum standards.

Homepage Refresh

The public homepage has been updated with new visuals, an underwater ocean theme, and refreshed content sections highlighting what makes Edzo different: ready-to-use resources, remixing, and watching learners grow.A dedicated search results page is now available for visitors browsing resources. Includes mobile-friendly filters, empty state messaging when no results are found, and a search icon in the navigation header.

Wordlists, new blocks, and editor improvements

Wordlist Resource Type

A brand new resource type! Create word lists with custom words or generate them with AI. Wordlists can be imported into Word Search activities, making it easy to build vocabulary-focused content. Includes an AI generation tool to quickly create themed word lists.

Number Frame Question Block

A new question type where learners colour squares on a number frame grid. Teachers set a target (fraction, decimal, or percentage) and learners tap squares to match it. Automarking checks the total, not which squares were chosen, so there are multiple correct solutions.

Timeline Label Improvements

Timeline labels now wrap at a reasonable width and anchor to their pointer line instead of floating from the card centre. This reduces empty space at the ends of the timeline and keeps labels compact.

Block Design Settings

A new toggle lets teachers control block-level design settings, giving more flexibility over how individual blocks look within an activity.

Bug Fixes

  • Generated display images are now automatically selected after generation (no extra manual step)
  • Search results now show only the current locale’s listings, not duplicates for every language
  • Featured media on listings now preserves the correct order, so your cover image appears first
  • Wordlist editor handles empty word lists without errors
  • Locale-specific listing titles are preserved after editing the display title
  • New activity pages insert after the current page, not at a random position
  • Image blocks use transparent containers on coloured backgrounds for a cleaner look
  • Divider blocks are more responsive with no corner bleed
  • Quote blocks have improved background spacing
  • Section overview scrollbar is visible and aligned to the panel edge
  • Editor permissions are enforced per resource type

New blocks, AI tools, and number line overhaul

Part-Part-Whole Block

A new hands-on manipulative for early maths! Learners drag objects between zones to compose or decompose numbers. Two modes: part-part-whole (combine or split groups) and sharing equally (distribute objects evenly). Supports counters and custom images for themed activities. Available as both a learning block and a question block.

Stacked Equation Block

Show multi-step working out with vertically stacked equations. Each line reuses the equation editor, and teachers control which terms are input fields. Optional sequential reveal mode shows the next line only after the previous one is answered correctly. Perfect for teaching addition strategies, perimeter calculations, and step-by-step problem solving.

Tracing Block

Learners trace over letters, numbers, words, or shapes with their finger or mouse. The block renders a guided path with visual feedback as they trace. Supports print, precursive, and cursive font styles, with repeat rows for worksheet-style practice. Available as both a learning block (guided practice) and a question block (scored on accuracy and coverage).

Image Label Block

Label parts of an image with draggable markers. Teachers place labels on an image, and learners drag them to the correct positions. Great for science diagrams, geography maps, and anatomy activities.

Counting Groups Block

Build counting activities with visual groups of objects. Teachers set up groups with configurable markers, and learners count or interact with them. Ideal for early numeracy concepts like skip counting and grouping.

Fraction Wall Block

Visualize fractions with an interactive fraction wall. Learners can see how fractions relate to each other, compare sizes, and find equivalent fractions. Includes strict marking support for precise fraction questions.

AI-Powered Timeline Creation

The timeline block now has an AI generation tool. Describe what you want (e.g. “key events of the Australian gold rush”) and AI builds the timeline data for you. Includes a curriculum tag input pre-filled with the relevant code when available.

Number Line Overhaul

A big round of improvements to the number line block:
  • Marker sizes: Choose small, medium, or large markers to suit your activity
  • Multiple highlights: Highlight more than one region on the number line at once
  • Interactive editing: Click directly on the number line to add and edit markers, with hover cues for a smoother editing experience
  • Vertical scaling: Vertical number lines now scale more cleanly
  • Consistent editing layout: The question editor uses the same settings menu + preview layout as other blocks

Clock Improvements

Analog clocks now support hover interval wording modes, so learners can see time descriptions as they interact with the clock. Settings icons are clearer and interval popovers are bolder.

Cover Image Improvements

Generated display images now use the resource title and your theme styling, giving published resources a more polished, branded look. Screenshots are overwritten in place instead of creating duplicates.

Bug Fixes

  • Equation input font size now matches the equation display size
  • Published quizzes correctly apply their theme in the viewer
  • Timeline events at the edges no longer get clipped
  • Sort-into-groups dropzones work reliably when dragging items
  • Activity print layouts now have proper coverage
  • Quiz answer dynamic image settings are preserved correctly
  • AI text generation in blocks now streams smoothly
  • Tag chips have better contrast in dark mode

Word Search Activity

A new activity type for your toolkit! Create word search puzzles where learners find hidden words in a grid. Perfect for vocabulary practice, spelling reinforcement, or just a fun brain break.

Number Chart Block

Introduce number patterns and counting with interactive number charts (like hundred charts). Available as both a learning block and a quiz stimulus, so you can build visual number activities and questions around them.

Branded Display Images

When you publish a resource, Edzo now generates a polished, branded display image automatically. No more hunting for a cover image or taking screenshots.

Map Grid Editing Improvements

The map grid editor is smoother to work with: better background controls and a more intuitive editing experience when placing markers and labels.

Data Table Image Cells

Data tables now support image cells and dynamic image cells. Add photos, diagrams, or illustrations directly into your table rows and columns.

Bug Fixes

  • Piece-by-piece puzzle editor now matches the learner view, so what you build is what they see
  • Fixed an issue where input marks could appear outside cloze (fill-in-the-blank) questions

New blocks and editor improvements

Piece-by-Piece Pictures

A brand new puzzle activity! Upload any image and it gets divided into a grid. Learners answer questions to reveal pieces of the picture one by one. Get the answer right, and the piece flips over to show part of the hidden image. A fun way to combine knowledge checks with a visual reward.

Balance Scales Block

A new interactive block for exploring weight and measurement concepts. Learners can place items on a virtual balance scale, with support for stimulus images alongside the scale.

Number Frame Improvements

Number frames now support operators between frames and can display multiple frames side by side. Great for showing addition, subtraction, or comparison of quantities visually.

Data Table Improvements

Two handy updates to data tables:
  • Auto-fit columns: Double-click a column border to automatically resize it to fit the widest content
  • Prefix and suffix support: Table cells now correctly save and display prefixes and suffixes (like currency symbols or units)

Color Picker Polish

The color picker across the editor is now smoother and more intuitive, with the eyedropper button showing your currently selected color at a glance.
