Themes let you create a consistent visual style that can be applied across your resources. Set fonts, colors, background images, and preview how they look on different resource types.

Creating a theme

  1. Click Create resource from Your Resources or the sidebar
  2. Select Theme from the resource type grid
  3. Edzo opens the theme editor with default settings

The theme editor

The editor has two panels:
  • Left panel: Theme customization controls
  • Right panel: Live preview showing how the theme looks

Font settings

  • Font family: Choose from available fonts (default: “Edzo”)
  • Font weight: Select the weight (default: Bold)

Color settings

Themes support both light and dark modes. Click each mode to set its colors:
  • Light mode: Colors used on light backgrounds
  • Dark mode: Colors used on dark backgrounds

Background image

Upload an image to use as the theme background. Choose how it displays:
  • Repeat: Tiles the image across the background (good for patterns)
  • Cover: Stretches the image to fill the entire background (good for photos)

Previewing your theme

The right panel shows a live preview that updates as you make changes. Use the preview tabs to see how your theme looks across different resource types:
  • Preview: General preview
  • Slides: How slides look with this theme
  • Activity: How activities look with this theme
  • Quiz: How quizzes look with this theme
Toggle between Cover and Content views to preview both the title slide and content slides.

Using themes

Once you’ve created and published a theme, other resources can apply it:
  • When editing a Quiz, go to Settings and select your theme under Theme settings
  • Themes give your resources a polished, consistent appearance

Theme settings

From the Settings menu in the top bar:
  • Title and Subtitle
  • Differentiation: Support, Apply, or Extend (default: Apply)
  • Published visibility: Private or Published
  • Age range: The intended age group (default: 5 to 12)

Publishing

When your theme is ready, click Publish changes in the top bar. Published themes can be discovered and remixed by other users.
