Everything in the Resource Editor is built with blocks. Blocks are the building pieces you add to pages to create learning activities, from simple text and images to interactive questions and math tools. Here’s a quick tour of what’s available.

Text blocks

Text blocks are the foundation of any resource. Use them to explain, instruct, and guide.
  • Heading. Add titles and section headings to organize your pages
  • Paragraph. Write explanations, instructions, or any body text
  • Bulleted list. Present items in an unordered list
  • Numbered list. Present steps or ranked items in order
  • Quote. Highlight a quote or key statement

Media blocks

Bring your resources to life with images and video.
  • Image. Add photos, illustrations, or diagrams
  • Video. Embed video to demonstrate, explain, or inspire

Question blocks

Question blocks make your resources interactive. Learners respond directly, and their answers are tracked as part of their progress.

Learning blocks

Learning blocks are interactive visual tools that help learners explore concepts hands-on, with no question required.
  • Angle. Explore and measure angles
  • Balance scales. Demonstrate weight and balance concepts
  • Chart. Display data with bar charts, pie charts, and more
  • Clock. An interactive clock for exploring time
  • Counting groups. Display grouped objects for counting and skip counting
  • Fraction wall. Interactive fraction strips for comparison and equivalence
  • Image label. Add interactive labels to images and diagrams
  • Map grid. Create maps and grids for geography and coordinates
  • Multiplication array. Visual arrays for multiplication concepts
  • Number chart. Interactive hundreds charts and number grids
  • Number frame. Ten frames and number frames for counting
  • Number line. Interactive number lines for ordering, placement, and rounding
  • Part part whole. Explore number bonds and part-whole relationships
  • Pictograph. Represent data with pictures
  • Pixel art. Create pixel art on a grid (great for coordinates and patterns)
  • Place value blocks. Base-10 blocks for place value concepts
  • Shape 2D. Display and explore 2D geometric shapes
  • Tally marks. Visual tally mark representations
  • Timeline. Create interactive timelines for sequencing events
  • Tracing. Letter, number, and shape tracing practice
  • Venn diagram. Visual diagrams for sorting and classification

Math blocks

Specialized math tools for measurements, calculations, and mathematical demonstrations.

Activity blocks

Activity blocks are standalone interactive experiences that go beyond typical questions.

Basic blocks

Utility blocks that help with layout and structure.
  • Data table. Display structured data in a table
  • Divider. Add a visual separator between sections of a page

Mixing and matching

The real power of blocks comes from combining them. A typical resource page might include:
  1. A heading to set the context
  2. A paragraph explaining what to do
  3. An image or learning block to explore
  4. A question block to check understanding
There’s no fixed formula, so build what works for your learners.
Edzo offers over 50+ unique, interactive resource blocks across all these categories. New block types are added regularly. If there’s something you’d love to see, let us know!
