The Tutorials Editor lets you create AI-powered learning experiences where an AI tutor guides learners through a specific topic. You define what to teach, and the tutor handles the rest.

What is a Tutorial?

A Tutorial is an interactive, AI-guided lesson. You set the topic, learning objectives, and knowledge, then Edzo’s AI tutor teaches the learner through conversation, explanations, and practice. Tutorials are useful for:
  • Introducing new concepts with guided explanations
  • Providing personalized practice and feedback
  • Supplementing activities with deeper exploration of a topic
  • Creating self-paced learning experiences

Creating a Tutorial

  1. Go to Your resources and select Tutorials from the resource types sidebar
  2. Click Create tutorial
  3. Fill in the Tutorial details

Tutorial details

When creating a Tutorial, you’ll fill in the following fields:

Title

The name of your Tutorial. This is what learners and other teachers will see. Make it clear and descriptive (e.g. “Introduction to Fractions” or “Understanding Place Value”).

Subtitle

An optional short description that provides extra context.

Description

A longer explanation of what the Tutorial covers. This helps teachers and parents understand what the learner will experience.

Ideal duration (in minutes)

Set an estimated duration for the Tutorial. This helps the AI tutor pace the lesson appropriately and gives learners and teachers an expectation of how long it will take.

Learning objectives

Define what learners should be able to do after completing the Tutorial. Use the format “Students will be able to…” followed by specific, measurable outcomes. Good learning objectives are:
  • Specific (e.g. “identify fractions with denominators up to 12” rather than “understand fractions”)
  • Measurable (something you can observe or assess)
  • Appropriate for the target age group

Knowledge

Provide the AI tutor with the knowledge it needs to teach the Tutorial effectively. This is like briefing a substitute teacher: tell it what to cover, what examples to use, and any important context. The more specific and accurate your knowledge, the better the tutor will teach the topic. Include:
  • Key facts and concepts to cover
  • Good examples or analogies to use
  • Common misconceptions learners might have
  • Any specific terminology to use (or avoid)

Publishing

When you’re happy with your Tutorial, click Publish changes to make it available to learners.
Learners assigned this resource won’t see your changes until you publish them. This lets you refine the Tutorial over time without affecting learners mid-lesson.

Tips

  • Start with clear, focused learning objectives; the tutor teaches best when it knows exactly what the goal is
  • Be generous with the Knowledge field; the more context you provide, the better the experience for learners
  • Set a realistic duration; shorter tutorials (5-15 minutes) tend to hold attention better for younger learners
  • Test your Tutorial by previewing it before assigning to learners
