The Paragraph block is the foundation of text content in Edzo. Use it to write explanations, instructions, stories, or any other plain text content. Paragraphs support rich text formatting through the bubble menu, including bold, italic, underline, links, and more.

When to use Paragraphs

Paragraphs work well for:
  • Writing explanations and instructions
  • Adding context before questions or activities
  • Creating reading passages and stories
  • Providing feedback or additional information

Rich text formatting

Select text within a paragraph to access the bubble menu with formatting options:
  • Bold: Emphasise important words
  • Italic: Add emphasis or denote titles
  • Underline: Highlight key terms
  • Links: Add hyperlinks to external resources
  • Code: Format inline code snippets
  • Math: Insert mathematical notation using LaTeX

AI writing tools

Press Space in an empty paragraph to access AI writing tools. You can also select text and use AI tools to:
  • Rewrite or improve selected text
  • Expand on ideas
  • Simplify complex content
  • Translate to other languages

Tips for teachers and parents

Best practices:
  • Keep paragraphs concise; break long text into multiple paragraphs for readability
  • Use formatting sparingly; too much bold or italic can reduce impact
  • Add context before questions to help learners understand what’s expected
  • Use AI tools to quickly generate or refine content
