When children are involved, trust isn’t optional. Edzo is built from the ground up with learner safety, data privacy, and transparency at its core. This page explains what we do to earn and keep that trust.

Our commitment

Edzo exists to support learning. That means:
  • We protect children. Every design decision considers the safety and wellbeing of young learners.
  • We respect privacy. We collect only what’s needed and never sell personal data.
  • We’re transparent. You should always understand what data we hold and why.
  • We support educators. Teachers and parents deserve tools they can trust without hesitation.

Child safety

Edzo is designed for use by children and takes child safety seriously:
  • We do not collect personal information from children without verified parental or school consent
  • The platform is built so learners can participate safely without needing to share unnecessary personal information
  • Learner profiles are private and visible only within their learning spaces
Learner accounts created by schools or parents do not require an email address. This minimizes the personal data collected from children.

What data we collect

We believe in collecting only what’s necessary:
DataWhy we collect it
Name and email (adults)Account creation, sign-in, and communication
Display name (learners)Identification within learning spaces
Learning activity dataProgress tracking, assignment completion, and insights for teachers and parents
Usage dataUnderstanding how features are used to improve the platform
Device and browser infoSecurity, troubleshooting, and ensuring compatibility

What we don’t do

  • We never sell personal data. Full stop. No advertisers, no data brokers, no exceptions.
  • We don’t show ads. Edzo is entirely subscription-funded.
  • We don’t build marketing profiles of children. Learner data is used for learning, full stop.

Data storage and security

  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
  • We use industry-standard security practices including regular audits and monitoring
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis
  • We maintain incident response procedures and will notify affected users promptly if a breach occurs

Moderation and safe spaces

Learning spaces in Edzo are private by default. Only invited members and learners can access a space. Additional safeguards include:
  • Teacher and parent oversight: adults in a learning space have visibility into all activity and resources
  • No public social features: there are no public feeds, comment sections, or messaging between strangers
  • Resource review: teachers control what resources are available to their learners
Edzo is not a social media platform. It’s a learning environment where adults are always in the loop.

School and district use

For schools adopting Edzo, we can support:
  • Data processing agreements (DPAs) upon request
  • School-managed accounts for administrator control over learner data
If you’re evaluating Edzo for your school or district, contact us. We’re happy to walk through our security and privacy practices in detail.

Your rights

You have the right to:
  • Access your personal data at any time
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your data (see Privacy settings)
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing
